Using only the four basic ingredients; glass, colour, light, and texture, Matthew has pioneered new techniques that not only revolutionize stained glass manufacture, but also how we perceive this ancient art-form.
His techniques bring the art of stained glass bang up to date, and involve using interactive designs on multi panes of toughened glass, illuminating them with the latest colour changing RGBWW engineered light sheets to give a radical and never ending display of kaleidoscopic colours. The effect on the viewer is a mix of both excitement and calm at the same time.
The "Winderlitebox" are created as stand alone artworks that are made to simply hang on the wall (as opposed to being fitted directly into windows or door panels). However, Matthew continues to design and make "Winderlite glazing" using his unique techniques to fashion double glazed units that conform to all the latest building regulations.

"The idea came to me after a powerfully effective hypnotherapy session.
I wanted to unlock my own creativity, as I felt trapped by myself, always knowing that I was holding back. After the session I went into the studio and started playing with bits of glass, layering them and adding paint and other materials to them. Hours passed. I lost track of time but I knew I was on to something big.
By the time i finished that day I had undergone a sort of creative enlightenment, and stained glass for me would never be the same again. I was totally exhausted but very excited.
As I unlocked the doors the next day I saw that the studio looked like a bomb had hit it. There were piles of glass and tools and books everywhere. In the process of transformation the day before, my mind had experimented with literally hundreds of ideas, one after the other, and everything was everywhere!
I set about the business of turning these ideas into reality.
At the end of the day,the most satisfying thing about what I am doing is helping my customers with bespoke works of art that not only light up their homes but light up their lives too!"
