Here is a small selection of my work, showing its versatility, and some of the ways people are enjoying it.
The Spark (left) was commissioned by City University in London to transcend two floors, and bring light and colour into the newly built basement.
It hangs 3 meters off the ground and rises to 8 meters. It is visible from both street level and the lower ground floor. It is made of three equal sections of 10mm thick toughened glass, backlit with LED light sheets, and is 1 meter wide. The original idea was to fill the whole wall with a cascade of glass, but the budget did not reach that far. To compensate for this I designed a halo of light that I projected onto the wall, which effectively extended the artwork beyond the glazed perimeters, and kept the bursar happy! The artwork represents the powerful "SPARK" of knowledge that transmits from the teacher to the pupil. I am sure we all have memories of at least one teacher that was able to get information through to us in a way that will last forever. I also visualized a flash of electricity jumping across the synapses to form a neural pathway in the brain. |
This spectacular Crystal Tree (right) is one of my latest inventions.
It can be made as a wall hung, illuminated colour changing artwork, and will look great in any room. It can be made to measure for double glazed windows, door panels or room dividers. The photo on the left was displayed at the Grand Designs Live exhibition in May, and stole the show! People were delighted with its versatility. These designs are amazing to look at, as they let lots of light in, and can be made with either clear toughened glass to see the view beyond, or satin etched for ultimate privacy. The first Crystal Tree I created was in satin etched glass for a bathroom. |
